Saturday

Kept for Jesus Christ

Kept for Jesus Christ
What more can I say?
It is done, it is finished
There is no other way.

Kept for Jesus Christ
Oh how my soul rejoices
Knowing that I am His forever
And there is no one or nothing that can take me away.

Kept for Jesus Christ
Sweet words to my ear
A well of emotions now stirred up within me
As the tears start to appear.

Kept for Jesus Christ
A sheep following the great Shepherd
Staying close by His side
Listening close to the voice of the Master.

Kept for Jesus Christ
A precious promise from God’s word
No working on my part to keep my salvation
Because it’s all of grace through faith
in the Messiah, Jesus Christ alone.

Kept for Jesus Christ
I will rejoice and praise Him all the rest of my days
Knowing I serve a Savior who not only saves
But also keeps those who are His.

Kept for Jesus Christ
As the Lord continues to mold and shape me
And use this lump of clay however He chooses
Until that day when I see Him face to face.

Wednesday

God's Word

By it, I see the sinfulness of man
Though by the Holy Spirit I am convicted of my own sin
By it, I see how I am to live
Though by the Holy Spirit I am given power to live

By it, I know who I am in Christ
And by the Holy Spirit I am sealed until the day of redemption
By it, I know the truth
And by the Holy Spirit, He brings to mind the truths

By it, I am pierced to the heart
And by it also, I am comforted
By it, I know more of the one true God
whose throne I can approach
And by it also, I realize how holy and majestic He really is –
He is to be revered

Sweeter than honey from the comb
More costly than the costliest of diamonds
More precious than all the jewels in the world

Food that will last an eternity
And that feeds the body
Oh how by it, my soul is nourished

God’s word.

A Christless Eternity

A Christless eternity, what a horrible thing.
Yet so many have gone and many will go
and face this very situation.
Each day the gospel is proclaimed and each day
many reject the free gift offered.

Are you being faithful where the Lord has you?
Are you being faithful to witness to your family and friends?
Are you being faithful to witness to those you work with?
Are you being faithful to witness to those who attend your church?

Will you go and tell of the holiness of God
and the sinfulness of man?
Will you go and tell of the righteous standards of God
and the rebelliousness of man?
Will you go and tell of the good news of Jesus Christ
and what He did?
Will you go and tell of repentance and faith in Christ alone?

Or will you just sit and make excuses:
I’m too busy to share.
I’m not good at speaking with others about Jesus.
I don’t want to lose friends.
I’m not gifted in that area (we’re all called to be witnesses
for Jesus Christ).
I don’t want there to be arguing in the family.
I’m too…I’m not good at …I don’t want…

Whatever the excuse, repent and ask the Lord to help you.

If you have no desire to witness to the lost, then I must ask you to examine yourself to see if you really are in the faith. With no desire to be a witness for the one you call Savior, it may be that He is not your Savior at all.

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, ‘But the righteous man shall live by faith.’” Romans 1:16-17

Sunday

O Triune God

Almighty Father,
The one who dwelleth in heav’n above
The one whose name is to be hallowed
The one who draweth us to Thee
The one who loveth most and
Sent His only Son to die for a most wretched like me.

There is no other name more beautiful
Nor more precious than that of Jesus Christ
Who left His glory in heav’n and came down as a man
Who lived a perfect life
Who died to set men free from sin
Who rose from the dead and defeated death
At whose name every knee will bow

No other power that we can live by
But through the power of the Holy Spirit
Who dost bring conviction
Who dost help the Christian live
Who dost give to each believer gifts to glorify the Lord

O Holy Father, Son and Holy Spirit
One Being, Three Persons, co-eternal
All throughout eternity existed

We praise thee God, the one true triune God
For there is no other and wilt never be
Thou art worthy to receive all glory
Thou art worthy to receive all praise
Thou art worthy to receive all honor

Thy Great and Glorious Lord
One who dost giveth and taketh away
To Thy name we give all praise
Because Thou art worthy to receive nothing less
From everlasting to everlasting
Thou hast been

To You alone do we sing
To you alone do we raise our voice in praise:
Thou art worthy
Nothing canst we bring
But praises to the King
And the very lives that Thou hast given
To glorify and exalt Thy name!

Wednesday

Hallelujah Sing Hosanna

Mighty God, Masterful Creator
of all that I can and cannot see
from the smallest of creatures,
to galaxies beyond what the eye can see,
all declaring the work of Your hands

When I think of who You are and who I am
it’s unfathomable that You would save such a sinner as me
Most glorious Lord, Only Savior there is
to You I raise my voice and sing

Hallelujah, sing hosanna

Holy, holy, holy Almighty Lord
Glory, glory, glory unto Your name
All praise and thanksgiving for all You have done

O, my Savior and Lord
My Great God who reigns.

Who am I but a mere man
created in Your image
saved by grace through faith alone
to walk in the works that You have planned out for me

Learning to walk and live each day
in the power of the Spirit
knowing He who began a good work in me is faithful to complete it
so I sing

Hallelujah, sing hosanna

Holy, holy, holy Almighty Lord
Glory, glory, glory unto Your name
All praise and thanksgiving for all You have done

O, my Savior and Lord
My Great God who reigns.

I know right now I see through a mirror dimly, oh, so dimly
but there will be a day, when I see my Savior face to face
and will bow my knees and sing

Hallelujah, sing hosanna

Holy, holy, holy Almighty Lord
Glory, glory, glory unto Your name
All praise and thanksgiving for all You have done

O, my Savior and Lord
My Great God who reigns.

Sunday

It's All About You

Lord,
Give me strength to die to self daily. Help me to die to my wants, my desires, my will and let me be ever mindful that it’s about You, and Your glory, Your praise, Your honor, Your name – You!

Saturday

Prayer of Praise to the Lord

"...O Lord, I am astonished at the difference between my receivings and my deservings, betwen the state I am now in and my past gracelessness, between the heaven I am bound for and the hell I merit.
Who made me to differ, but thee? for I was no more ready to receive Christ than were others; I could not have begun to love thee hadst thou not first loved me, or been willing unless thou hadst first made me so. O that such a crown should fit the head of such a sinner! such high advancement be for an unfruitful person! such joys for so vile a rebel!" From The Valley of Vision excerpt pgs.12-13

O God of much mercy, compassion and love; thank You for saving a sinner like me! Thank You for making me Your own.

I've been saved from Your wrath; from the fires of hell.

I've been given the gift of repentance. I've been justified. I have been saved through the precious blood of the unblemished Passover Lamb, my Jesus Christ; the one who died for my sins. I continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ; not because I am brilliant (far from that!) but because of the Lord who continues to sanctify me and mold me into what I am to be for Him.

You are the Potter, Lord, and I am Your clay to do with whatever You see fit to do with me.

To You my precious Lord be all the glory!

Friday

Visible vs Invisible

Another year has come and gone.

Another year of Your mercy and long-suffering upon a nation that has turned its back on you.

A nation who shouts out “God Bless America” whilst doing things that are an abomination to You.

This past year has seen adulteries among its leaders; the re-defining of Your holy institution of marriage and the continued killing of babies from the womb.

We’ve seen unrepentant homosexual clergy put in leadership in so-called ‘churches’. We’ve seen the lengths so–called ‘pastors’ will go to be popular by their use of crude language from the pulpits. We’ve seen the continued watering down and dumbing down of Your precious gospel that welcomes everyone without repentance and faith in Christ alone; as to offend no one because calling people ‘sinners’ and calling them to repentance and faith is not the ‘nice’ thing to do.

Oh, how the unregenerate heart of all men from birth is continually evil.

There truly is nothing new under the sun; only re-defining of words and better ways to take sin to a greater level of sin.

Poll after poll says the majority of Americans are Christians. How many though, Lord, will hear on that day, “Depart from Me, I knew you not.”

The church visible leading people astray.
The church visible making a mockery of Your name.
The church visible not truly proclaiming Your gospel.
The church visible saying good is evil and evil is good.
The church visible saying right is wrong and wrong is right.
The church visible re-defining Your word.
The church visible telling people to ask, “Did God really say…?”
The church visible, unholy, unrighteous, without ears to hear…

BUT…

The church invisible pointing people to Christ.
The church invisible lifting high Your name.
The church invisible truly proclaiming Your gospel.
The church invisible calling evil, evil and good, good.
The church invisible calling wrong, wrong, and right, right.
The church invisible taking Your word as is and standing firm upon it.
The church invisible telling people, “Thus saith the Lord…”
The church invisible, holy and righteous because of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and having ears to hear.
The church invisible, not perfect, but continuing to be sanctified by the power of the Holy Spirit.
The church invisible calling men to repent and trust in Christ alone.
The church invisible, not without struggles, but leaning on the Lord.
The church invisible, awaiting the glorious return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Maranatha!

"Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen." Jude 24-25
